A number that has not appeared for a long time is somehow more likely next.

The two layers underneath

The maths, in plain language

The rebuttal is never a new theorem. Each myth maps onto a closed form already used elsewhere in the playground:

“Due” → geometric waiting time, $p = k/N$ , memoryless.
Hot / cold → $\mathrm{E}[\text{hits}] = D\cdot k/N$ , with a z-score that describes the past only.
No consecutives → exact adjacency probability from non-adjacent counting.
Balanced tickets → order-statistic spacings; every ticket still has the same $\binom{N}{k}^{-1}$ probability.

The page’s job is routing: pick the claim, show the number, link into the tool that lets the visitor check it on the full history.

The story behind it

Folk lottery advice survives because it feels like pattern recognition. A number that has been quiet for months feels loaded. A ticket with 12 and 13 next to each other feels too neat. Tip sheets sell that feeling as skill.

LotteryOracle’s answer is always the same sentence in a different costume: the machine has no memory, every ticket of the right length is equally likely, and the stories people tell about “due” or “balanced” are descriptions of how humans read randomness — not of how drums work. The case files under Stories document the rare times a lottery really was beaten; none of them involved reading the last draw for a tip about the next.
